Did you try downloading on your PC, then installing it manually on your Android device

http://www.naviate.com.au/hybridmaps/Au ... D.sqlitedb

You get the URL long pressing on the map name in the Map Library

It tell me 6,32 Go

The fact that amount of data that will transferred is much larger than the file size is normal.
To transfer a file, the file is split in lot of small packets
Each packet is send over Internet in an envelope, with header and info
The packet is in the envelope
On the envelope you have information as:
- destination address (where it go)
- originating address (where it come from)
- packet number (requested by the destination to recompose/reassemble the file)
- ….

If packets sent are small, this information could represent a significant volumes of data that will come in addition of the pure file size

That’s probably the reason why

Hi Garyh

YES, you can make your own maps
and NO (I don't know how to generate maps it with Google Earth and satellite image are not very convenient)

Easiest way (for me) to generate maps is using MOBACS
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mobac/ ... BAC%201.9/
(I 'm still using Mobac version 1.9.6, not 2....)

having launched MOBAC select as Atlas format "RMApsSQlite"
this the format supported by FIF

then select the sourcemap
OpenStreetMap Mapquest is good to start

select the source level you need
1 to 12 or 1 to 13
higher is the zoom level bigger will be the file

select the selection tool "Map" -> Selection Mode -> Polygonal
select the area you need as map

Then save and crate Atlas

Once the file is generated then install it on FIF following user guide instructions

Have fun

Hi Gary

You may try this link
https://www.dropbox.com/s/mv1kr4zn9d6ck ... itedb?dl=0

Its map of the area generated from OpenStreet MapQuest with zoom level 1 to 12
That for the file is much smaller(less than 150 Mo)

The file will may later on be available via the standard Map Library of FIF
